Veteran Services
Veteran Services Office Mission
At Grayson College we are proud of our heritage and take great pride in our standing as a leader in service to our students who are veterans, active duty, military dependents and survivors. Grayson College is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium, affirming our commitment to honor service and empower warriors. Our two offices, the Veteran Services Office (VSO) and the Veteran's Hub, have a unique and powerful relationship that is specifically designed to facilitate your transition so you can achieve your educational goals.
The VSO will continuously enhance Grayson college's military friendly legacy by identifying, developing and providing uniquely tailored resources and programs to students who are:
- Veterans
- Active Duty, Reserve or National Guard
- Military dependents, survivors & families
in order to enrich their holistic development and overall academic success. By embracing the “application to vocation” mindset, we will support veteran recruiting and college/career transitions by leveraging our Viking core values: Honoring Service & Empowering Warriors.
Vision
The Grayson College VSO will become “the Model 2-Year College” and improve our national ranking to truly become the college known for personal, all-inclusive support to Viking Veterans and their families. As a highly visible institutional single point of contact (“one-stop shop”),the VSO will find new avenues to maximize both GC and external resources to ensure world class academic and transition support that prepares Viking Vets for future leadership in a global society.
In short, as the focal point of Viking Warrior collaboration and support, we will foster a new sense of Viking tradition to:
Honor Service & Empower Warriors!
Our vision is to not only be a base for education benefits, but be a welcome haven for our GC warriors and dependents to be amongst one another, especially transitioning OEF & OIF soldiers.
Goal
To Honor Service & Empower GC Warriors, dependents, and survivors along their educational path.
